Flight Bird Cages - What Kind of Birds Are Best For This Cage?
by Curtis Cheung

Some people would first consider which cage best fits their bird, but it does not mean that when they see a cage that they like, they may consider which bird is good for this cage. Flight bird cages are cages made specifically for small birds or parrots but also for breeding birds as well. As a result, this cage actually fits for many types of birds, making it a very versatile cage. Not to mention that this type of cages are very good for their value. You will not have to break your wallet in order to get this cage.

This cage is great for birds because it provides ample place for a bird to fly back and forth. That is why we all recommend this cage for small birds like finches, canaries and budgies. They love to fly across the room. In fact, they do not fly like helicopters. Many people would often think that birds like to fly up and down. That is not true. That is why the wider the room, the better the cage is.

Promoting ease of flight is very healthy for the bird. If your bird cannot fly back and forth, then it is going to feel trapped. That is why a flight bird cage is great because it is wide enough so that the bird would have a lot room. This is also a part of a regular exercise that the bird should partake. Without exercise, your bird will get out of shape and will get unhealthy. The more opportunities to fly, the healthier it gets.

For bigger parrots, you would have to be a bit more careful. They are not used to this type of space so you may want to try to place them there for a little bit before they get used. That does not mean that these cages are not great for parrots, but generally you might want to consider a double flight bird cage so that the parrots do actually have more room and hang around. Whereas smaller birds like to fly back and forth more often, bigger parrots would actually require much more room to fly. A double flight cage may or may not provide enough space for this case.

Another use of this cage is good for breeding birds. The flight cage allows plenty of room for small birds to get to know each other. Some double flight cages have dividers that allow multiple birds to get used to each other before they get to mating. With the large room, they can fly and be happy. If they are not placed in a roomy cage, then they are not going to be happy enough and mating may not occur.

Flight bird cages are not too expensive to purchase and it is a great starter cage for many smaller birds or even small parrots. It is very space efficient and also has a shelf on the bottom. Thanks to multiple feeders and perches, these cages really make it easy for budgies and finches and all those birds to enjoy a wonderful time.
